I don't know if this has been abandoned or not (hasn't been updated in months assuming that's not outdated), but I found a bug.
Right before you leave the starting town and right after you get your first party member (aside from the protagonist), the game freezes up and there's no response to any key presses including movement, so it broke the game for me. I even tried downloading the build from rpgmaker.net (they were different file sizes, so I thought, hey why not; may as well try it). Transferred the save files over. Same problem happens. Maybe I'd need to replay the game. If that fixes it, wouldn't really mind it, tbh.
Just thought you should know, assuming this is still alive.
Featured the game on Saturday Select, a series where we play promising games in development! I hope Gus eventually grows as a character, not just going by the player's whims.
Really loved the demo, guys! Perfect pitch with the dialogue, pacing, music comp, character and world design. The original assets are great overall. Strong aesthetic, strong story to build from. You have something special here! I'm glad you got your backing, especially extended for other platforms. Hopefully I'll have the chance to do a full playthrough (with better voices lol) of the finished game on my channel when it's released.
My only feedback at this stage is minor. Be careful about the speed of auto-text. Some lines zipped by too quickly to see let alone read. Those moments are some of the best for humor and NPC character development, so you don't want them missed. Also watch out for typos. They spiked after the first hour and a half or so and it started to pull me out of the story a bit.
There are going to be a lot of comparisons to things like Undertale, Earthbound, etc. and I think Glitched will benefit from that in the long run in terms of word of mouth, but I'd hate to see it get lost in those comparisons, so be careful about how many elements in the game feel/seem derivative.
Anyway, I finished the demo, but I haven't uploaded all of the videos, so I only posted the first one here. I'll update this with the last vid later. Good job and good luck!
A fascinating game that takes gameplay mechanics from some of the best indie games ever, blends them together with some new and interesting concepts and gameplay mechanics and comes out with an experience that is both familiar but also wholly unique. A treat to play and an experience I am loathed to pull myself away from. Keep an eye out for this one.
i absolutely loved this game! the idea of it, the characters, the story. such an amazing concept. i wish you the best luck, and i can't wait to play the full version!
I absolutely love the game, even though, I'm pretty picky in terms of this type of games.
Its story just gets into your brain by just starting from almost nowhere and becoming deeper and deeper. I'm almost in a dire need of knowing what happens to the characters by the time I finish a part of a game to have a break.
The game has its fourth wall breaking jokes and dialogs. And it adds to the game so much. I really like it!
Mechanics are pretty simple (at least, for me so far). These texts appearing after I press an object will be the death of me. I'm just so curious to see all the hidden details or just something that character has to say.
A sound design of the game has a good and big place in my heart. I don't know about you, but I find it really atmospheric and pleasing to the ears. And it's not in your face (or ears I should say). And it is a big plus.
An art style is pretty nice. All the details to underline different personalities of aВcharacters are here, even though, it's a minimalistic (or pixelated) artwork.
A little problem I had with key bindings. I've tried to change my buttons and made "Enter" has no control button. So there was no way to change it back. But it's ok. I just deleted my save file so the game resets.
To sum it up, I just want to add the video of mine if someone wants to see actual reactions on the game! I am gonna finish it :D
This fourth wall breaking idea is quite clever! And, I definitely enjoyed your demo, so far. The art is stunning and I am curious to what may happen next. With the taste of the Bebo interaction, it makes me wonder if there will be a dark story or unsettling undertones (I mean, apart from what is already present). Seriously, good luck and cannot wait for a full version!
This is fun so far! Dunno how much of the demo I have left to play through, but I already can't wait for the full game :) Feels a lot like Oneshot and Earthbound...love it!
I also am among the crowd of people who made a let's play of this game >.> Hope I did it justice!
My fiancé has played the demo and has done two videos so far.
Part 1:
Part 2:
We're both enjoying the game so far. I'm not in the videos but I'm still enjoying the game in my own time. :) Good luck with the production of the game! I look forward to seeing more in the future! ^^
I really love this game! And the option to interact with someone while we're in battle is awesome, and kinda reminds me of Undertale. What I most love about it, is the game totally breaks the Fourth Wall, giving the main character the option to interact with US! That was awesome, by far. And this "Mother series" style give it a great retro touch. I can't say anything bad about it. I really love Glitched! <3
This game is great and I love it but I've encountered an issue with my second playthrough, where I confirmed key inputs without setting any keys for 'confirm', I figured that I could easily open the settings once the game started but no luck with that and the game uses the same key bindings on the main menu, leaving me with no way to access options or start a new game. I'm going to redownload the demo so there's no worries but I think there should be a way to access the settings during the prologue or have the main menu use the default key inputs, in the chance that someone else makes my dumb mistake.

Hello there!
A really nice game, I'm so impatient to discover the rest, even if I wasn't a fan of the pixel graphics, though. Nice job, I really like it!

Thank developers for that given experience!

This game is full of fourth wall breaking that are creative and funny. And it's only been 15 minutes to me!
This is my experience so far.
man, this is amazing, you really have to make a spanish version, your game will be VIRAL!!
In the final game we can do a pacifist route like undertale ??

Plans to translate to Portuguese?

I started playing this, and I gotta say, it's the best so far.
